Please join us for a Lunch & Learn event next Thursday, March 16, from 12 P.M. to 1:15 P.M. at CTA. Our presenter from Samtrafiken, Lars (Lasse) Lofquist, will be sharing with us some best practices on public transportation coordination and technology in Sweden.
Samtrafiken—which means “interconnection” in Swedish—supports the coordination between all 38 public transportation agencies in Sweden, a country roughly the size of California. These public transportation agencies are the joint and equal owners of Samtrafiken. Samtrafiken develops the IT services to make public transport easier, more accessible, and more reliable, including fare platforms, trip planning apps, timetable coordination, an open data hub, and real-time traffic information, among other services.
Lasse Lofquist, our presenter joining us virtually from Stockholm, is a Chief IT architect at Samtrafiken and has been heavily involved in Trafiklab, its innovation hub. He will share how Samtrafiken uses technology to make public transportation better, and how they plan to evolve in this changing technological landscape to meet the needs of future riders.

This will be a lunch and learn webinar. We will be providing lunch for those who choose paid attendance ($5 for YPT members, $10 for non-members). You may join and bring your own lunch for free, but please do register. Space is limited. Registrants will also be provided a WebEx link if for some reason you cannot make it in person.
